From drawing to completed project
A staircase project has a shape. Here it is, so you know what happens next and what we need from you at each stage.
1. Consultation
We talk about the space, what you want and what's realistic. If you already have drawings, send them. If you have photos, send those.
You get: a scope conversation and an idea of the range.
We need: photos or drawings if you have them, and your postal code.
2. Site measurement
We measure floor-to-floor height, run, width and the existing conditions. This is where guesses become numbers.
You get: confirmed dimensions.
We need: access to the stairwell.
3. Design and material selection
We produce a drawing and a material list — species, thickness, profiles, railing components and finish.
You get: a drawing and a specification to approve.
We need: your approval, in writing, before fabrication.
4. Formal quote
The quote itemises materials, fabrication, labour, installation, removal, finishing, delivery and tax. Approving the quote freezes the line items and the price.
You get: a quote with a validity date.
We need: your acceptance and the deposit.
5. Fabrication
Your staircase is built to the approved drawing. Lead time depends on species, finish and complexity, and it's stated in the quote.
You get: a production status you can check in your account.
6. Installation
We install, finish where specified, and clean up.
You get: a completed staircase and a walkthrough.
We need: site access and a clear path.
About change orders
Sometimes what's underneath isn't what anyone expected — an out-of-square opening, damage that only shows once the old treads come off, a species that's suddenly unavailable. When that happens we stop, tell you, price the change, and wait for your written approval before we continue. You will not receive a surprise on the final invoice.
